"Emmerick has a sound for everyone . . ." - Notre Dame/St. Mary's University Observer

It's that time again. Every songwriter gets a tingle in their spine when they think about bringing new songs to life and getting them down on tape. Tim Emmerick is currently in the studio recording the follow up to his highly acclaimed debut release "North."

Currently residing just outside of Bath, United Kingdom, Tim will be recording his new album surrounded by pastoral English countryside, a setting he is sure has influenced the work. Tim ended up in Bath after being awarded an International Postgraduate Scholarship to study at Bath Spa University, where he will become the first American ever to earn a Masters or Arts degree in the craft of Songwriting.

With his last release, Tim Emmerick received international acclaim with stellar reviews appearing in regional, national and international media (see press).  “North,” is artful alternative country at its finest. He incorporates classic rock, bluegrass, old country, punk and contemporary rock in his eleven original songs.

Emmerick wrote the music and lyrics for “North” over a two-year cycle of reflecting, writing, composing and rewriting in his Brooklyn apartment. Each track tells a story – using real life, real people.

The album is the reflection of Tim’s family experiences while trying to negotiate responsibility, obligation and personal desire.

“If I don’t feel personally moved by a particular story or angle I just try to avoid it. I try to tell the truth, because I’m a bad liar.”

In addition to the strong lyrics and a voice like tempered glass, the instrumentation of “North” is a buffet. Pedal steel guitar, fiddle and piano complement the traditional rock line up and honest vocals. His unexpected instrumental roster leaves the listener wanting more. If you're a fan of Wilco, Ryan Adams, My Morning Jacket and the like, you must check out Tim Emmerick.

Grammy Award winner and veteran art director Brian Grunert (Ani DiFranco/Muse) signed on to develop the album packaging – which is a piece of art itself. Brian and Tim went on to be honored by the American Advertising Federation with a Silver Addy Award for "Best Promotional Packaging" at the 2007 Addy Awards for the design. “North” is available through all major Internet music services and through retailers upon request.

Two tracks from NORTH were cut as part of THE UNITED STATE OF AMERICANA series (vol. 5 and 6) released by Shut Eye Records in Atlanta, GA.

Tim Emmerick has shared the stage with national touring bands including Zox, John Brown's Body and the Pie Tasters.  He's played regularly at legendary venues including the Knitting Factory in New York and Buffalo, NY's Nietszche's.

Tim is endorsed by Rocky Mountain Slides of Salida, CO, and First Act Guitars of Boston, Mass.
